CONANCA
CONANCA Club is a student-led service club dedicated to supporting the Comisión Nicaragüense de Ayuda al Niño con Cáncer (CONANCA), an organization that assists children and families affected by childhood cancer in Nicaragua, including patients receiving care through the Hemato-Oncology Department at Hospital Infantil Manuel de Jesús Rivera “La Mascota.” Through service, fundraising, and awareness initiatives, students help contribute to CONANCA’s mission while promoting compassion and solidarity within the school community.

Impact on Students
Through their involvement, students build empathy, leadership, teamwork, and a deeper understanding of the challenges children and families facing serious illness face. Planning service and fundraising initiatives teaches members responsibility and perseverance while helping them recognize how their time, creativity, and effort can support people facing difficult circumstances.
Social Impact in Nicaragua
CONANCA Club contributes to efforts supporting Nicaraguan children affected by cancer and leukemia. CONANCA’s mission includes providing material and emotional support to children with cancer and advocating for conditions that improve their care and quality of life. By supporting this work, students help raise awareness of childhood cancer, encourage solidarity, and mobilize resources for children and families who need them.
Understanding Social Responsibility and Civic Engagement
Students learn that social responsibility means responding with compassion when community members face serious challenges. Through awareness campaigns, fundraising, and service, members see how collective action can advance a larger cause. The club teaches students that civic engagement includes using their voices, resources, and abilities to support vulnerable members of society and strengthen a culture of care.
