Fellowship of The Cross
Fellowship of the Cross is a faith and service club made up of male high school students who serve as altar servers during the school’s sacramental celebrations, weekly Masses, and special religious events. Members assist the school chaplains and help ensure that liturgical celebrations are organized, reverent, and meaningful for the entire school community.
Club Overview
Impact on Students
Students develop responsibility, discipline, confidence, and teamwork through regular participation in Mass and other religious celebrations. By assisting the chaplains and learning the different roles involved in the liturgy, members deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith while learning the importance of preparation, commitment, and humble service.
Social Impact in Nicaragua
Fellowship of the Cross helps strengthen a culture of faith, tradition, and service within the school community. By actively participating in sacramental celebrations, students help preserve religious practices that are central to many communities in Nicaragua. Their example can also encourage younger students to become more involved in faith and service.
Understanding Social Responsibility and Civic Engagement
Students learn that serving a community can also mean taking responsibility for traditions and experiences that bring people together. Through altar serving, members contribute their time, attention, and effort to support the spiritual life of the school. The club reinforces the values of commitment, reliability, humility, and service to others.
